Another day in paradise. We’re still here and look forward to seeing you when the travel restrictions are lifted.
The weather is perfect and the diving is out of this world
Yawana Bungalows is on the south west coast of Vella Lavella Island just one hour from Gizo by boat.

Traditional ‘leaf house’ style bungalows at the water’s edge looking towards Ranongga Island, surrounded by gardens of coconuts, bananas, fruit and vegetables. Comfortable, clean, cool and no-fuss. Shared toilet and bathroom. Maximum of four guests. Andrickson does all the cooking, with an emphasis on fresh seafood and fruit and vegetables grown in the garden.

Yawana Bungalows are mostly powered by 12v solar, and we run a generator for a few hours in the evening for charging laptops and camera batteries etc.

There is a good internet connection from a nearby telecom tower.
Yawana is not just about diving the amazing reefs of Vella, we create a more wholistic Solomon Islands experience in which guests meet local people and learn about their culture.

We can arrange a traditional dance performance on our private beach, or a visit to a nearby tambu site hidden in the forest.
There are plenty of other activities for guests – fishing with local guide Alan who has thirty years of experience taking fishermen to the best spots, or hiking through the forest to visit the WWII wreck of a DC3 transport plane, or a boat tour up the Ola river to look at crocodiles.
Andrickson and Andrew have created Yawana Dive and Bungalows in a beautiful and remote part of the Solomons where visitors get to experience the real Melanesian life among the islands.
