The National Archives of the Solomon Islands (NASI) was established in 1979, to preserve records of the Solomon Islands Government that has lasting value for reference and historical purposes. NASI also has the mandated role to advise all Solomon Islands Government departments and agencies on the proper management and disposal of Government records.
Our Services
- To act as repository for the custody and preservation of records of lasting value produced by the Solomon Islands Government, as well as materials from other organisations and individuals that may have historical significance to the country.
- To advise Government departments and agencies on the proper management and disposal of the official records of the Solomon Islands Government.
- To provide, maintain and enhance Government and general public access to the archives.
- To carry out repair and conservation work to damaged or at-risk archival documents.
- To make surrogate and digital copies of archival documents for ongoing preservation.
