The Company commenced operations in 1973 as Solomon Taiyo Limited, a 100% pole and line tuna fishing operation. Since then it has grown to become exclusively a tuna processing operation comprising a cannery, loining and cold storage facility.
SolTuna is a tuna processing company based in the town of Noro in the Western Province of Solomon Islands, a remote country in the Pacific spread across more than 1,000 islands covering over 28,000 square kilometers.
.One of Solomon Islands’ largest employers, Sol Tuna is a private entity employing 2,100 of the country’s 540,000 residents.
